Verdict:
Wolverhampton based 4 piece Stolen Comfort are awarded EP of the month for their
unusual piece of dark country blues rock. It's a deceiving but delightful mix of unapologetic
melancholic lyrics supported by a deep country blues sound. Opener 'Raccoon Dog Blues' and
'See You Hanging' are song titles that automatically makes one expect stereotypical upbeat
southern shenanigans to be voiced throughout but don't be fooled! The SC front man is an
intriguing master lyricist and mysterious storyteller who sings in such great character that you can't
help but feel intoxicated and hypnotically drawn to each tune. Musically this is beautifully ambitious
and soulful, especially 'This Boy' with its moody and atmospheric chords and emotional blues
guitar playing. Excellent work and great to see live too.
