RYAN'S GIG GUIDE November 2016 - page 20

RGG November 2016 - p.20
Greetings Ryan's Gig Guiders
Listening to albums or watching live bands used to be a fairly entertaining commodity and also
a distraction for people with very mundane lives but in recent times the majority of the
brainwashed population haven't really had the time to listen to real music or been concerned
about being boring because they're currently glued to scaremongering news channels and are
programmed to draw a single conclusion that their Government is run by psychopathic control
freaks Therefore encouraging millions of morons to remain tied to their crusty bogey covered
couches awaiting any television news broadcast that will help them solve the answer to their
slavery; a bit like mistaking a wasp's nest for a piñata and expecting small toys to drop out every
time you kick it
Many don't consider music as a form of escapism; arguably because of years of mistaking so called
Saturday night talent finding shows for genuine music entertainment and being force fed utter
drivel The very existence of these talent search programs wrongfully suggest that there is some
kind of world music drought or a shortage of talent Many idiots presume television productions
such as The Voice or The X Factor are providing music entertainment but viewers and participants
of these shows are arguably more obsessed with fame rather than discovering thought provoking
music When a contestant wins any of these allegedly fixed TV talent shows you never rush out
to buy their music (often because they haven't got any) instead you judge them or sulk because
you've concluded that you possess more talent than them and that it should be you on stage
instead; you aren't paying attention to their music or skills at all you are focused on what they
have won in a silly staged competition If somebody wins the lottery you don't first think “Oh
wow; I aspire to be like you” instead you probably just pout in a corner holding your useless lotto
ticket and fantasize about spending their money on prostitutes or renting a castle
Talent shows don't contain any real music role models When Lemmy Kilmister Prince or David
Bowie passed away we all had precious personal memories of them ranging from everything they
said and did during our lifetime to how their music inspired us or got us through difficult times
One day Steve Brookstein who won the first series of X Factor will die and if the media ever
decided to broadcast this information we'd probably say something like “Oh that's that guy who
won that awful talent competition who said Olly Murs had HIV on Twitter isn't it? Rest In Peace”
