It's wonderful to see that a Midlands artist
is playing shows in Dubai. You sure must be
looking forward to playing there?. Last year you
launched
Bout Dat Online
; can you tell our
readers a bit about what it is exactly?
FONZi
Neu
TRON
:
Sure, it's a Birmingham based
media production company showcasing local
talent via our
Bout Dat Xperience
radio show.
We broadcast on Monday Nights at 8:00GMT on
Extreme Roots Radio as well as international
radio play in the US, EU and other international
regions via our
World Class DJ Club
initiative.
Tying in with that I have been dabbling in event
management in the UK, Holland and Dubai.
Yeah I'm also looking forward to performing in
September thanks to my good friend and
business associate
Saby Kahn
who's a real
stand up guy.
r
gg:
Your Birmingham studio is pretty busy from
what I've heard because you do a lot to help
other rappers in the scene; is that correct?
FONZi
Neu
TRON
:
This year has been good so far,
working with some of Birmingham's richest and
freshest talent. Since opening
Bout Dat Studios
to the public we have been able to further
support and enrich the Hip-Hop (Urban) creative
scene within Birmingham, making sure that
young artists have platforms, support and
tutelage along the way.
r
gg:
You're a man after my own heart. I've
noticed you do a lot of filming too.
FONZi
Neu
TRON
:
Yes. I'm currently working on a
movie and soundtrack entitled
Trap Mob
. We
have released little clips to good response and
are having a blast filming so movies is definitely
a further point of interest for
Bout Dat
.
Trap Mob
also has a clothing line that is produced through
our
Bout Dat Life Apparel.
The demand has
been crazy, especially for the
No Squares
Allowed
design and even Natty Dread!
r
gg:
What's your most current music release that
people can download?
FONZi
Neu
TRON
:
My latest EP is
Natty Dread
Rides Again
which is available on iTunes or our
official band camp which has the complete 2013-
16 Collection -
boutdatmusic.bandcamp.com
-
and I have a few follow ups to come. Due to the
nature of Hip-Hop and my creative stride I tend
to release a lot of music, but the good thing is it
doesn't take away from the next release. They
flow together like an adventure series, that's how
I tend to see life and each created manifestation
therein. With that being said, there's
Playa
Cards Right
an album co-produced with
Artistik
Domino
from
No Limit Family
and much more
being released very soon.
r
gg:
I know you're doing a collaboration with my
band soon, but what are your thoughts on
working with other artists?
FONZi
Neu
TRON
:
(laughs) Yeah, as you already
know I have some serious stuff in the works with
WEAK13. It's always good collaborating with
new artists as music is always something that
has brought people together. I've done a lot of,
what some may find, obscure collaborations in
the past in terms of fusing music, but I'd say
there's still untapped realms. Recently I worked
with a Punjabi artist.
r
gg:
Cheers for giving RGG your time.
FONZi
Neu
TRON
:
Thanks for the interview. Big
shout out to the
RGG
team, staff and supporters.
Big ups to Birmingham,
Bout Dat Family
,
No
Limit Forever
,
CMC Tha Movement
and don't
forget to join us on
Bout Dat Online
with a new
website soon, and look out for impending
Bout
Dat
releases
Playa Cards Right, Trap Mob, BD
ThunderCats, The Archetype, Family
Business.
See ya.
