Verdict:
"Without You" is the third single
released by RiD from their debut album titled 'No
Way Back. RiD are a Coventry based band with
links to Birmingham and Wales and this single
really did grab my attention. Before being
contacted by RiD vocalist Kathryn Marsh I'd
seen their music video on YouTube and I was
relieved to know that they were releasing this as
a single. It's out now and I strongly suggest you
download it. It's one of those tunes which I
guarantee will not age with time. Kathryn Marsh
isn't the only singer in the band but she takes the
hot seat on this tune and it's a magnificent
performance all round. Musically RiD are an
indie rock band with energetic guitar riffs but on
"Without You" they take a more acoustic
direction with this gentle ballad packed with
strong caring vocals. In my opinion this is one of
RiD's strongest tunes and I urge their supporters
and you reading this to spread the music.

Verdict:
A female version of Roland Gift,
imagine a more mature sounding and, in my
opinion, a naturally stylish version of Norah
Jones and I'd say that sums up what I think of
Linda Marita. This five track EP titled 'Going Mad'
from Wolverhampton singer songwriter Linda
Marita I'd recommend for people who dig songs
by artists such as Vanessa Carlton or Top
Loader. Image wise I was expecting a middle
class librarian but what I heard was a high profile
rock star singing like she's made Jools Holland
run out of notes during a jazz dual. Highlights are
all five tracks. Okay, I'll be serious; highlights are
opener "The Other Half" with its blues stomp
groove and rapid fire soulfully honest "I'm gonna
git u sucka" fiery woman-on-heat rant, the
powerful "It Doesn't Take Much" with it's full-of-
life theatrical sounding vocals but the star of this
EP has got to be the finale "metamorphasize"
which demonstrates just what a fine well
controlled and talented singer Linda is. Book this
lady now.
