Since the departure of Sid and Sand from The Boar’s Head,
Kidderminster now sadly finds itself without a platform for
regular live music, and Ian hopes the 180 seat
Rose Theatre
venue could help fill the void.:
“It’s something I’ve been planning for a few months,
a one-off gig with the chance to expand on my
usual format. It will be my last hometown date
for quite a while and I’d like to make it really
special. The Rose boasts a huge stage with
great facilities, and I’m hopeful there could
more musical events there in the
future.”
It’s been a productive couple of
years for
The Humdrum
Express
with regular airplay on
BBC 6music, the release of last
year’s album
The Day My Career
Died
, followed by the recent
Lookalike
Bond
EP.
“I’m planning to release another
new single (and video) in
November and will be airing the
song for the first time on the
night. Without giving too much
away about the show, it will be
much more than a standard gig
and I’m looking forward to trying
out some new ideas. Joy, intrigue
and surprises are promised!”
The Humdrum Rose Theatre
Extravaganza
on 7th October
will start
at 7:30pm, finishing at 9:30pm with a
planned after show celebration at a
location to be confirmed shortly.
