What if there's an accident in this tunnel at
mph? What if there's a power cut? You've got
to have another tunnel running alongside to
give emergency and recovery vehicles access
plus I'd imagine you'd want an extra tunnel lane
to get all these empty electric sleds whizzing
back and forth rather than stacking up each end
or just left sitting on the track One car catches
fire in there and the emergency services are
going to love working in a foot diameter
tunnel I sure hope some of these x vehicles
are going to fit in there too
These days people will believe almost anything
they see and hear on their television screens If
someone with sod all experience in tunnelling
tells you that they need money (possibly yours)
to finance them to create machines to bore
holes like Swiss cheese underneath your home
without asking your permission to ease traffic
congestion by them shunting and catapulting a
family car on an electric skate from one
destination to another by way of a
claustrophobic underground tube and you think
that this is how reality works then you are
indeed an idiot This news story is complete

DIGGINGAGIANT HOLE
How long will it take Elon to bore out these
tunnels? Apparently he's already built a mile
long test tunnel within a couple of weeks at the
same CGI studio that the SpaceX rocket was
made The Gotthard Base Tunnel is the longest
tunnel in the world and was completed in
in Switzerland It's
miles long and they
started test drilling in
; yet Elon reckons
he's not only bored a mile long tunnel in a week
but also lined the walls of it too This is more far
fetched than going to Mars Bullshit
Let's say LAX airport was your destination
Hundreds of cars are arriving there roughly the
same time as you are all heading towards one
elevator platform to get out and catch a plane
One car gets elevated out drives off to park
then the empty sled slowly goes back down
Meanwhile there's a traffic jam underground
They'll have to build an underground
MuskDonalds to stop everyone starving to
death down there and hopefully they won't
suffocate to death either The tunnel system
will have to cope with the peak times; you'll
need one sled for every car on the road plus all
these empty sleds rattling around the tunnels
that have dropped cars off waiting for others to
arrive
Musk states that instead of it costing a billion
dollars a mile he's going to narrow the size of
the tunnel because you don't need much
