Emma:
How does the song procedure take
place?
Gaz:
There’s four song writers in this band, it’s
organic. When one of us starts with an idea we
all roll with it and chip in. None of us like the
‘verse, chorus, verse, three and a half minutes
long’ process. It can be slow. Sometimes its
bang
here’s a song, sometimes it’s
shit
… and we
just go to the pub.
Emma:
You’ve recently released a video for one
of the songs on ‘
Is It Supposed to Sound Like
That?’
How was that?
Gaz:
Yes, Elvis! Well it’s based on a true story.
We wanted it to be really dark and gritty; like a
horror movie. It was filmed by
Nick J Townsend
,
at
Black Market Beats’
lock-up, and actually the
lighting we were supposed to use fell through
so we ended up using a bunch of torches.
It looks exactly how I wanted it to look. My
mate Phil dressed as Elvis (he hasn’t taken
the suit off actually). It was a great laugh.
Emma:
So ‘
Call of the Wolves
’... is that not
an ode to our beloved city of Wolverhampton?
Gaz:
That’s exactly what it is. And it’s written by
Jay, well 80% of the album is. He’s a real driving
force. Everyone slags off their hometown but Jay
came at it from the point of ‘no, it’s decent, we’ve
got a good music scene’. It’s a song that
counters everything that any other punk band
would release. Embrace what’s good and the
bits you don’t like; change ‘em.
The band will be releasing a 4 track record
around mid-October in celebration of Halloween
available through
Bunny Boiler Records
as
well as YouTube, Spotify, iTunes and Deezer.
The EP will feature two fresh tracks, so far only
heard at live gigs, along with cover of
Pet
Cemetary
by
The Ramones
