Verdict:
The latest release from Birmingham
based sleaze rock’n’roll band
Silent Jack
shows
a confidently raw yet mature side. Opener
Hard
Rock Hell
begins with a nostalgic stadium-like
intro then cuts in with an authentic late 80's
heavy glam-metal stomp.
Silent Jack
have done
something quite smart here; production-wise you
could be mistaken for thinking that it’s not their
strongest release, due to a very noticeable raw
and edgy sound. However, that’s what makes it
quite appealing and I think it’s deliberate. It's as
if this release has been aimed purely for the fans
of the genre with an underline message of "we're
just gonna rock you, now get on with it and rock
to it" and offer an overall sound and performance
far more fitting to the music period they pay
homage to. Highlights are
Lets's Go
and
Killing
Time
. The band sound terrific and totally
comfortable with themselves, so much so that
it’s hard to not picture them immortalised in a Los
Angeles music venue because they sound like
they’ve always been a part of rock n roll history.
Brumtastic.

Verdict:
Written from the perspective of a
family man that appreciates the importance of
those that immediately surround him, Hiphop
artist
CP Lee
from Brierley Hill releases
Troy
, an
incredibly brave and noble song that shows a
rappers love in such a warm and well executed
way, you kind of wish they gave out genuine
medals for music - rather than the phoney plastic
awards they dish out on TV. Released on Spotify
and iTunes, this song clearly demonstrates a
solid rapper making his voice heard. What you
might not expect is that this is also the voice of
a proud father showing the world not only that
he has a heart, but also that he is a smart, lyrical
warrior, who can more than handle himself in the
studio. Produced by experienced engineer
HeadRocka
(aka
Jeff McDonald
), this tune is a
fine example of Midlands talent. There is a music
video on YouTube and I suggest you watch it.
Lyrically, this man has a way of getting under
your skin in a positive way. According to
CP Lee
"Troy for me was a song I could not have written
from any other angle than from the perspective
of a proud father. The track captures perfectly
the importance of family and passionately
delivers the love I have for my son"
Nuff said.
