Verdict:
Roz Bruce is here and means business Imagine Jimi Hendrix was white female a better singer
and pissed off Hard to imagine? Well after hearing The Roz Bruce Infusion album 'You Deserve
To Be Here' admittedly that was my first impression Musically though things are somewhat
different Roz along with drummer Dominic Dillon bassist Gaf Evans and guest keyboardist Phil
Windess release a psychedelic rock pop album with a more modern day approach to songwriting
I begin funnily enough with the album closer 'Wicked While' which like many of the tunes on
here is lyrically impressive and a powerful example of showmanship Roz Bruce is lovingly scary
and intimidating in a good way Her vivid narratives poetic singing and projection fused with
very stylish and rather fine guitar playing create so much character that the tunes are simply
memorable Me comparing her to Hendrix is one thing but as an album I'd only liken this to Jimi's
early material mainly because I believe that she and the band have bigger tunes to write could
get crazier and if they do so then they have the potential to be massive Album highlights for
me were 'Social Freak' 'I Sentence You To Life' and 'Thirteen Hours' but I'm sure you can pick
your own
