Jim is the big voice of the legendary ten piece
band,
Little Acre
and also had a stint with
Robert Plants' Honeydrippers
, and
Ricky
Cool and the Rialtos
. The band also feature the
very debonair
Richard Bailey
on keyboards and
flute. Rich has also been part of bands such as
Brum rockers
Magnum, Trapeze
, and in the
80's took over the keyboards stool from non
other than
Jon Lord
in
Whitesnake
. Big boots
to fill, and Richard played to over 180,000
people at the Rock in Rio show!
Malcolm Smart
- another highly respected
Brummie veteran - adds a lot of class to the
band with some fabulously understated guitar
playing. Lately of bands such as
Cafe Culture
who featured the terrific
Suzi Woods
.
The drum stool is occupied by
Ed Taylor
who
among stints in lots of bands around the local
scene since the 70's was the guy responsible for
kicking off all the rock and roll in the F1 Grand
Prix paddocks around the world. He is reunited
with
Jim Hickman
, who also toured the race
circuits as part of the
Pitstop Boogie Boys
,
which also included another local legend,
John
Caswell
on guitar.
It's probably (almost certainly!) too late in the day
for these chaps to be storming any charts, but
good players, playing good music, appreciated
by knowledgeable and loyal fans in nice local
venues will always find a place.
Get along and see a Little Band show....You
never know who may be guesting with them
next.
