Verdict:
'Rock & Roll Incarnate Part One', the
follow up to their excellent debut album "The
Dark", is finally released by Midland hard rock
band Electus and what a corker it is too. All the
songs have a strong hook chorus, solid guitar
riffs, a big hard sound. It's commercial with an
edge and the guitar solo on 'Saved' is so
incredible that the band will probably have to
stop Ozzy Osbourne sniffing around them.
Basically this a band for real rock lovers and if
you grew up in the 90s and owned a lot of
albums by top American hard rock acts then
you'll welcome Electus with open arms as they
totally slam their authority with this record.
Highlights are 'Slip Away' with its bluesy Seattle
overtones, the hugely addictive rock strutting
groove of 'Ticket To Nowhere', there's 'Light In
The Sky' with the to-die-for chorus, surprise with
the "we should have seen it coming with a title
like that" tune 'Summertime' which is an acoustic
scorcher filled with harmony and rammed with a
feel good factor of times a billion and one.
Recommended for fans of Stone Temple Pilots,
Therapy?, Alice In Chains, Megadeth and White
Zombie - and it’s British. This is an album for the
British rock community to be proud of.

Verdict:
“Torous are exactly what the metal
scene needs”. I've been saying this since I first
heard of the band and this debut album confirms
everything I've previously said. A band that can
stand tall with the big 4 and sound original
without alienating everyone. 'Mind Field' is a
gargantuous album designed to please the most
hardened metaler and you can't help but feel
excited about the direction these guys are
taking. What sets these guys apart is the natural
Celtic harmonies and twang they incorporate
into the music which, #1 sounds terrific and #2
doesn't distract you from the stomping heavy
crunch guitar riffs. They are doing something
totally different to everyone else and it sounds
amazing. Album highlights include 'Colours'
which for fans automatically helps create the
entire history of heavy metal stances in one song
with its chugs and chops. Bonus song 'God
Game Suicide' thankfully is included and it alone
is metal paradise. Instrumental 'Seven' raises
the roof and shows how musically they can grip
you, there's what I can only describe as a kind
of Irish death jig in 'Crow Road' but it's title track
'Mind Field' that really shows off their flare for
creating grand and daring masterpieces.
Overall a monster you want to keep.
