'Let It Shine'; the BBC's answer to replacing 'The
Voice' was kicked into the groin of ITV hoping
to impress all with its man hunt for a boy band
that sounds worse than the manufactured
monstrosity known as Take That and in the
process win a chance to appear in a musical
based on these malignant cunch of bunts
Another panel of judges led by sausage look a
like Gary Barlow sit down wafting through shit
after hit with nothing for us to to look forward
to other than death itself The show seems to
ignore what people want and decides that there
is a huge demand for boy bands which are now
like an extinct species As a piece of
entertainment it behaves like an episode of
Doctor Who trapped in the year

Take That the only other entertaining element
of the show is watching Gary Barlow resist
dribbling over the hordes of five piece oiled
young men lap dancing for him in front of a live
studio audience whilst massaging his ego

Dance Dance' on our screens which is yet
another entertainment show regurgitating the
exhausted format of a panel of gormless judges
who in this case dissect performers recreating
supposedly famous dances danced by unknown
dancers In other words watching morons
imitate the dance moves from commercial pop
music videos and being forced to listen to the
This month I would like to heavily praise the Midlands music scene and many of the independent
bands and songwriters it breeds Already this year there has been an immense buzz of creative
activity despite being surrounded by the headless chicken we know of as the mainstream music
industry which continues to lower its standards The corporate music based reality programs that
we see on mainstream television are a great example of how fragile things are right now Music
to the general public appears as some kind of a contest X Factor is obviously quite a sore talking
point with real musicians or songwriters and as its viewing figures continue to dwindle the
television companies make a desperate scramble to clone their previous works dumb down the
public even more and in doing so alienate actual music talent by pretending it doesn't exist What
it does indicate is that they are worried; people are waking up to real bands real gigs real
Saturday nights out at music venues and real talent When you see as many awful talent shows
as this popping up it signals that they are in a real state of emergency to control the masses
