Verdict:

By far their best work to date and I've

listened to musician Roz Bruce evolve over the

years; I'm very impressed with her bands’ new

album 'Doctor Doctor'. Whereas previous work

had a slight "showcase of styles" feel, here

there's a direct and deliberate dark theme

stamped on 'Doctor Doctor'. The Infusion use the

subject of mental health as a core issue

throughout. The tunes are epic and totally

accessible from first play. Highlights are the

experimental psychedelic 'Mania' with its eerie

laughter, the outright blatant punk assault of

'Doctor Cunt Fucker', 'Katelyn Frost Prt 1' with

its disturbing way of making you feel like you are

          being examined by a psychiatrist. There's a

whole range of good songs to enjoy. As an

album, it plays like a classic rock opera, filled

with surreal wonder, great guitar riffs, drama and

          rock’n’roll. I really think they've opened a few

more doors for themselves too fanwise with this

extra, more magnified, element of gothic 80s

injected into the overall sound. Absolute gold.

          Verdict:

          Wolverhampton singer songwriter

Sam Draisey releases the 'As I Live And Breathe'

album. Fifteen tracks strong, a long time coming

but very worthwhile and tunes like 'Five Years

Later' totally explain what Sam Draisey stands

for. If you are expecting traditional folk then be

careful what you wish for, as you've not only got

that sound but imagine the voice of a hardened

Paul Simon blended with Damien Rice roasted

in the political attitude or lyrical magnetism of

artists like Billy Bragg. Highlights are 'The Worst

Lie Of All' for its observations of equality, 'Used

To Be My Hero' with it's superb character

assassination and grit, the delicate 'The Day I

Was Meant To Die' which with a title like that isn't

quite what you expect to hear as it's beautiful,

          there's 'Let's Not Grow Old' a wonderful

nostalgic mind road trip and 'Turning You down'

with its attention and personal insight into

missing someone mixed with a little anger. Hey,

this is a real passionate guy, sometimes he

shouts, sometimes he whispers but this is deep

and absolutely mesmerising from start to finish.
