Laurence “Corky” Laing is a native of Montreal
Canada and said to be one of the hardest hitting
drummers in the history of rock music!
Mountain forged a style and sound that changed
the face of rock music and the powerhouse
double drummer along with with Leslie West
Felix Pappalardi and Steve Knight gave us
“Mississippi Queen” “Nantucket Sleighride”
“Theme from an Imaginary Western” and many
more; all standing the test of time
Although best known as a long time member of
the pioneering American hard rock band
Mountain and for West Bruce & Laing during
the past couple of years Corky has been busy with
Playing God: The Rock Opera – a critically
acclaimed collaboration with two Finnish
philosophers and amazing musicians from around

In
he was awarded the Bonzo Bash Legend
Award (following Bill Ward Carmine Appice and
Peter Criss)
Almost a decade since he last came to the UK
about his return he says: “First of all I’m really
thrilled to return to the UK! It’s been years
since I first came to your lovely country to my
father’s country That was in

feels like the first time I’m just as excited
Over the years Mountain has toured the UK
a number of times and we’ve always been
very warmly received”
Having played on over a hundred recordings
and been a major contributing artist on
numerous singles live albums and or so
studio albums this tour is all about revisiting
the immortal MOUNTAIN Classics performed
by the man who co wrote many of the hits
To honour the memory of Corky’s long time
collaborator Jack Bruce the set will also
include songs from Cream and West Bruce &
Laing Corky is joined by Joe Venti (USA) on
bass and Phil Baker (UK) on guitar
