Verdict:
Eddy Morton the fruitful songwriter and
founding member of the Bushburys delivers arguably one
of the best folk albums to rise out of the Midlands with its rich storytelling, delicate
but respectful loyalty to true traditional folk playing and it's overall haunting warmth.
Highlights are impossible to pinpoint as there are really so many great moments on
this 11 track album, but songs like the nostalgic 'Journey To The Schoolhouse', the
epic 'The Battle For Stourbridge', the atmospheric but downcast in feel 'When I'm
Gone' and the touching 'Angels Never Cry' were favorites of mine.

Verdict:
Cult rugged Wolverhampton tongue in psychedelic satirical cheek lords of punk
The Nightingales return with a new album that's a welcome continuation of their ever evolving
and ever not giving a fuck about rules attitude to songwriting. Terrific humour, surreal hooks
that shouldn't work but do and great precision playing. The band was a favourite of John Peel
and with cool songs like 'The Only Son', 'Gales Doc', and 'Great British Exports' you just know that
he'd be raving about this album if he was still on earth today. This really is a good catch.
