since
1995
who want to have a few beers bop around and
get sweaty My kind of night! Comparisons
could probably be drawn to Queens of the
Stone Age in the way a lot of the tracks are led
by a heavy bass riff for me they just remind me
of Therapy when Therapy were good!
As with the previous gigs I had seen the crowd
were a mixed bunch People who clearly knew
the band and their songs and people who had
just come along to see a bit of live music (I’m
presuming that the proper old boy in crowd
was a relative of the band or he might just be
an old dude with good taste in music!) The one
thing that all these people had in common was
their enjoyment of the show Every single one
of them was rocking out and singing the
choruses (encouraged by Ash)
After the gig I got chance to have a chat with
Ash and Nick about what’s in store for the
future of the band and what we can expect
They are currently working on their first full
album to be released in early
as with already
released EP’s "Eau De Kitchen" and "Life's What
You Make It" the album is to be written produced
and recorded by the band in their kitchen! These
boys are
DIY and have no intention of
changing Hopefully this will mean that the
energy witnessed in the live performance is there
for everyone on the CD whether Sheehan’s
impromptu beat boxing features remains to be
seen
Later on this year the DSS will return to LA
having played some gigs there in
and
where hopefully the buzz surrounding the band
will spread Further shows planned this year
include an acoustic set at the Genting Arena
Forum (Birmingham) before the Stereophonics
and potentially a Christmas show/gig once again
at the Actress and Bishop My advice would be to
fuck off the Christmas socks and treat yourself to
a ticket to that show!
