RGG March 2017 - p.12
Verdict:
As we all know the New Wave
Of British Heavy Metal happened in the
80s but there's been a huge revival lately
and many of the artists from this era are
fashioning a comeback; making this a
new new wave of British heavy metal or
NNWOBHM. Seventh Era originally
formed in 1979 and later reformed in
2013. This Blackcountry band release
four track EP 'Hard Rock Never Dies' and
clearly it's alive and well. Highlights are
'Slide It In' with its AC/DC esque rock
groove, 'Jester' with its whacky vocals
and palm muted sabbath-like precision
riffs; and my personal favourite which is
'Charity' with its smart as a whip Metallica
Harvester Of Sorrow-like eeriness. The
band are currently searching for a new
drummer and have European tour dates
to offer. If you feel you are the right
stick-man and can hit drums like a
NNWOBHM rock god then contact Chris
on 07966396885 today.

Verdict:
Frontwoman Chloe Ozwell
appears completely naked on the
frontcover of the latest EP by Sister
Shotgun with twenty one unknown hands
devouring her body - arguably the hands
of a Football team with a one handed
player. This heavy duty EP begins with
'From The Ashes' which wastes no time
shaking hands and pummels you
instantly with tight hard rock riffs followed
up by a catchy chorus, a killer head
banging bridge section and then, to top it,
off, a shoot-to-kill guitar solo is thrown in
- you're already sold on this record.
Highlights are 'Silhouettes' with its mix of
superb commercial vocal melodies
backed with riff-heavy metal and
'Misfortune' with its smashing lyrics and
no nonsense energy. Recommended for
fans of Halestorm, Bullet For My
Valentine and In This Moment.
