RGG February 2017 - p.13
Verdict:
Stoke-On-Trent based indie folk goth
rock band Reagal posted RGG an exclusive
preview of their upcoming single 'A Strangers
Mind' which will feature on their hugely
anticipated debut album 'Life, Love and
Imagination'; we granted them single of the
month with their release 'Wild Heart' and we've
done exactly the same thing again. Already this
band have gained the attention of critics with
their unique haunting approach to songwriting.
Classier than Florence And The Machine, darker
and more credible than Nightwish; Reagal have
outdone themselves once again with this
delicate spiritual sounding Celtic-like gothic
blues-rock ballad which sounds like an instant
classic. There are no songs currently in the
charts that can compete with the spellbinding
earnestness and straightforward eloquence of 'A
Srtrangers Mind'. An exquisitely fine example of
how great British music can be. If this is one
example then I can guarantee that the entire
album will be a joy to hear. Intelligent,
meaningful and darn right cool. They have a
Kickstarter campaign set up on their website and
I will be donating; I hope you will all join me in
helping this well deserved bunch of musicians
who have spent five solid years on the live gig
circuit grow to become a hit on the radio.

Verdict:
Three track promo CD from
Stourbridge based beat combo Flying Ant Day
featuring a respectful punked cover of Nick
Lowe’s '(What's So Funny Bout) Peace, Love
and Understanding?' and two original songs
from their forthcoming debut album titled
'Lemmings'. The band are named after the day
that sees hundreds of creatures irritating
residents across the land during humid weather,
but this band is one synchronised swarm that
you won't want to get rid of. According to their
bio, all members of FAD are named 'Moore' so
promoting individual musicians is pointless; their
choice but I hope they take their own names as
sincerely as their musicianship because these
songs are no joke at all. If they do then moore
reviewers (see what I did there?) and music
promoters will take them seriously. Putting any
good reputation I have to them, Flying Ant Day
are one of the best live bands I've personally
witnessed out there on the gig circuit and tracks
such as 'Zombie Song' and 'Lemmings' heavily
display their well crafted concoction of classic
60’s group and 70’s punk influences. Lyrically
this is borderline genius and as songwriters FAD
sound incredibly energetic, modern and
relevant. Professional festival promoters should
book this band but it's time the members of FAD
stepped out from the shadows and embraced
the spotlight; time to fly.
