The Zutons have gone into Sunset Sound Studios in LA to com- mence recording their third album.The as yet untitled album, is the follow-up to the multi platinum selling albumsWho Killed The Zutons? (2004) and Tired Of Hanging Around (2006) and is due for release in the Spring. During 2007 the band wrote and demoed songs for the new album and saw Mark Ron- son’s version of Valerie (fromTired Of Hanging Around) become a smash hit across the globe and end as one of the Top Ten selling singles of the year in the UK. On making the new album, lead singer/guitarist and songwriter Dave McCabe adds.“At first I was a bit scared at the thought of going to LA to make this album because we’ve never been away to record before. Since we’ve got here it’s been sound though, we’ve been buzzing off the Americans, it’s taken our heads to a differ- ent place and it’s brought us closer together. Sometimes you have to go a million miles away or get on a plane for ten hours to get clos- er together. George (the producer) is funny as fuck, he’s like a walking jukebox and he’s getting a good vibe in the room.
