On arrival, the guests were treated to solo sax music by Samantha Jayne before entering the huge, delightfully decorated venue room where The Miss Fortunes were performing on the stage.The awards were announced by Black Country character Doreen (of 'lazy cow' viral video fame) who set the mood with her irreverent Black Country piss-taking style. Local musical comedian Jonny Cole provided a comedy interlude midway through the awards and the night was topped off by performances from Ryan Evans, Bhangra Smash Up and Skaburst.Add to that a raffle in aid of Compton Hospice and all in all, it was a fitting celebration highlighing just a small chunk of the huge Black Country Music scene. m www.blackcountrymusicawards.com Sam Jukes of legendary Black Coun- try venue JBs was the winner of the Lifetime Achievement award Doreen Members of Eyes OfThe Raven &Weak13 Members of The Pagans S.O.H.
