they're dragged along to gigs. So I started advertising online. I knew my first chal- lenge was to catch people's attention amidst so many other adverts. If I wanted to form a band that was fun and creative then I had to start with advertising. So my first advert went something like this: "Time Traveller Seeks Vocalist. You may not believe this but I'm from the future, you and I are in a band together, and this advert is how it started." That advert and a few others led to a full band line-up... which slowly started losing members. But having a few songs written helped to keep the momentum as we es- tablished a stable line-up who became Mondo Royale. You’re known for exuding a fun & positivity in both your music & performances, was it important from the start? That positive fun vibe was always a key aim. But it wouldn't be possible without the members of the band, who are a lot of fun to be around.We find it a challenge though. People often don't get what we're about until they see us live.And it can be really hard to find gigs that suit us amidst the indie, rock, metal and folk of Birming- ham. If anyone knows of any pop/upbeat gig nights then let us know! How did the band get together? I was previously in an indie/pop/rock band that practised irregularly and gigged even less.
