rgg Oct 2018 27 www.ryansgigguide.com Millie May Kelly B The Pagans S.O.H. The first Showcase Session took place on 18th September and RGG was there to check it out... Three acts treated an appreciative crowd which included BryanTravers from the leg- endary UB40, to a mix of original material and covers and all three went down a storm. First up was singer/songwriter Millie May who displayed an understated, flowing vocal, effortlessly switching between her own atmospheric original songs an excel- lent selection of covers. Millie coped mag- nificently with a couple of early electrical glitches which were out of her control which, might have seen a more seasoned performer throwing a wobbler. Next up was Kelly B who jolted the crowd with a short energetic set with a guitar & vocal style which has clearly been honed by busking around the local areas. Beginning with a couple of crowd-pleasing Beatles numbers, she then played some delightful original material. Finally, it was the turn of The Pagans S.O.H. to wow the Dark Horse crowd. Quickly working up a sweat, they played two blistering sets of very well executed hip-hop tinged, funk-infused soul bangers. These boys are definitely ones to watch out for.  www.facebook.com/MillieMayMusic  www.facebook.com/KBWhiteMusic  www.facebook.com/pg/thepagansband Brian Travers & Jayne Burness TUESDAY 2nd & Tuesday 16th OCTOBER
