Saturday 10th November O2 Institute 3, Birmingham  6 rgg Nov 2018 www.ryansgigguide.com Hailing fromThe Black Country towns of Stourbridge and Brierley Hill, Giant and the Georges have taken the local music scene by storm in the last twelve months. By Fat BlokeWith No Tattoos After a successful slot at the 2018 Lunar Fes- tival, the four lads play a headlining show at the O2 Institute in Birmingham on Saturday 10th November. Playing alternative indie ma- terial which has such an endea--ring quality that I defy anyone but those with the darkest of souls, not to enjoy. There’s nothing brash or arrogant about these guys. Brothers Sam & Ben George are the "George" element of the band and were joined by the "Giant" (Luke Best) who, ac- cording to Ben "was brought home by our sis- ter, so we took pity on him and formed a trio" . They subsequently acquired drummer Kris- tian Hohn who had seen them play at The Maverick in Stourbridge - "We needed a drum- mer for a charity event so he joined us for that, then more gig opportunities kept coming along . Winning the So Called Studios Battle Of The Bands competition in Birmingham earlier this year was a high point for the band "The crowd were electric and the whole set-up was so profes- sionally run. One of the prizes was to perform at the Solihull Festival, on the main stage where big names (Razorlight, Busted, 10cc) were also play- ing. That was a great experience in itself! Shoot- ing our debut music video ('Dopamine') with Nick J Townsend [RGG legend!] was a blast too, but sweaty under those lights! Again, top bloke to work with." Collectively citing their influences as The A Giant bending down A George
