Ryan's Gig Guide - March 2018
WWW. R YA N S G I G G U I D E . C OM r gg Mar 2018 - p.22 If you are familiar with Bose’s existing range of speakers, then you could consider the S1 Pro as the love child of the F1 Flexible Array and the L1 Compact. By combining a curved and articulated array to form an amalgamation of intuitive design, the resulting sound dispersion is unmatched from such a small unit. Not only is the spread on this speaker impressive but the range of frequencies it is capable of reproducing is equally as remarkable. Behind the three speaker array lies a six-inch high exertion woofer; which will leave punters asking how something so small can sound so big? With four speakers crammed into such a condense unit, you may expect this little box to weigh a fair amount, but you would be wrong. As technology advances, heavy rigs are becoming a thing of the past. Gone are the days where your function ends in a frenzy of packing away gear, convinced its unexplainable weight had displaced your spine. The S1 is light, weighing in at only fifteen pounds, making it a good companion for anyone on the move. Ideal for Buskers, small acoustic functions or as an uber-portable p.a for corporate events. Bose’s logo sits in pride of place on the front grill, a symbol that has become synonymous with quality and innovation. The logo even turns 90 degrees to be horizontal in the floor monitor position, showing that its visual presence has been carefully deliberated. It retains a visual appeal that is sleek and professional while remaining unobtrusive. This speaker does not scream for your attention and so it shouldn’t. By Adam Roberts !"#$%&'%()"
