Held in the gardens of the beautiful Bantock House Museum, once again this year's event sees an emphasis on local talent with Miles Hunt, singer/songwriter of hugely popular local band The Wonder Stuff headlining. Miles is joined by Jonn Pen- ney and Rat - singer and guitarist from fellow Black Country band Ned's Atomic Dustbin in the guise of 'Ned's Acoustic Dustbin'. In an exclusive chat, Jonn Penney told RGG... "This is going to be so much fun! We've done the big full-on electric tour with Miles earlier this year and that was an absolutely incredible experience for us all but it was very much like going back to our natural habitat.This, for Rat and me at least, is still a fresh experi- ence.There is nowhere to hide when it's just an acoustic guitar and vocal! I'm still trying to get used to sitting down to sing - I can't guarantee I'll be sitting still and for some reason I seem to overheat just as much when I'm sitting down as I do when I'm bouncing around for 75 minutes under hot lights! Saturday 7th July Bantock House Museum, Wolverhampton  The real revelation of these acoustic shows for me has been a fresh appreci- ation of the songs - Rat has faithfully compiled as many of the various instru- mental ingredients as possible into these acoustic interpretations and, al- though it's impossible to retain every- one's parts, hearing the 'highlights' as such has shown me just how much of a collaborative song-writing entity Neds actually are. We cram a lot into our songs between us, yet the songs do survive when you strip them down - I didn't think they would until recently and that's why I'd always resisted putting an acoustic show together. That and a lack of faith in my 'acoustic' voice. Miles is a seasoned showman with his acoustic shows, so we all know we'll be in for a treat when he plugs in - now it's great to be able to bring some more Stourbridge/Sedgley to the acoustic party!"
