The part where it started...
In September 2015, teacher Fred Mallinson
selected a range of students from Hagley High
School to create a 90’s tribute band, H90.
Within a school year, not only did they develop
their musical skills but as a close knit team of
friends they decided they could achieve more.
The part where it all changed...
Whilst preparing for a band tour of 15 primary
schools at the end of the summer term, H90
gained the opportunity to support Carlisle band
‘Hardwicke Circus’ for a Glastonbury warm up
gig. Little did they know that Dave ‘Stiff
Records’ Robinson would be there too and
they were even more surprised when he said
he’d really like them to do some recording.

1995-2016
theme tune “I’ll be there for you” was the most
obvious choice and with just days left before
some band members left school to start
University, the band cancelled their end of
term celebrations and Fred blagged some
recording studio time for them. Finally, with
help from Dave’s friend Pat Collier, they soon
had a professionally produced single.
The next part?
H90 don’t want their single to go unheard, this
is the product of many months of hard work,
dedication and friendship. They hope to
inspire other young musicians to aim beyond
the classroom. Any money raised by this
project will go to children’s charity - Winston’s
Wish. Can you be the next part of their story
or will you leave them in ‘second gear’?
